Why Pachanka? Well, the word Pachanka in Spanish means a street party or fiesta. We want to create a ‘party in a box ’atmosphere. Once the box is opened you will be going on a voyage of discovery and an adventure into the exciting world of chocolate making. We aim to share the joy and encourage people to have fun in their own kitchen and dispel the myth that chocolate making is difficult or fiddly.
We also want to spread the word about our fine ingredients. You will taste a world of a difference between the chocolate you can make with this kit and commercial bars laden with sugar and artificial fillers you may have been used to tasting. Pachanka is proud to have a very close connection with the ingredients that we use and their place of origin. We insist on 100% traceability of cacao, and it is vital to us that this is ethically sourced. Casa Luker has been working with ‘Fino de Aroma’ – in other words exceptional quality beans for a hundred years. This inspirational company founded in Manizales in Colombia are committed to improving the life of the inhabitants, guarantying favourable working conditions for the employees and developing social programmes in many rural areas. Find out more about their story by watching the videos on this site.
Every scrap of Pachanka’s packaging is recycled and recyclable. You could say that we are a bit obsessive about it because we don’t stop there! The inks used on our packaging are vegetable based and even the filling in the boxes is woodwool. This product is 100% biodegradable and made from ‘Spruce’ timber which is the top choice for re-forestation projects due to its fast growing nature. WoodwoolUK dedicates a percentage of their profits to maintain donations of bedding to endangered animals.
Our aim is to operate a sustainable business model that respects everybody and everything involved and more importantly our planet.
Our chocolate craft kits are free from gluten, wheat, soya, dairy and nuts, so they can be enjoyed by everyone.
